About Us

The CANVAS People Power Academy (PPA) presents a Global School for Activists that explores the dynamics of activism and nonviolent movements in modern society. This year’s event will feature a range of speakers, workshops, and panel discussions focused on protection and resilience strategies, combating legislative restrictions, and the impacts of digital innovations on movements and activists. Attendees will have many opportunities to network, exchange insights, and collaborate with others of diverse interests and expertise.

Originally launched as a virtual interactive space known as the CANVAS Summer Academy, this platform was designed to unite activists to discuss meaningful topics while encouraging participation through interaction, idea sharing, and asking questions. The enthusiastic engagement in our virtual academy culminated in our first in-person event last year, further inspiring an atmosphere of purpose, community, and collaboration.
