Andrei was arrested because of his intention to run for election to the State Duma. After his arrest, the Yabloko party nominated Andrei as a candidate. His team conducted the first and only election campaign of a political prisoner in Russia.\u00a0Andrei spent 3 years and 2 months in a Russian prison, the last year and 7 months in solitary confinement. On August 1, 2024, he was expelled from the country and released in a historic prisoner exchange.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
